Introduction

The Hoteldorf Grüner Baum is a delightful family-run hotel located in the picturesque Austrian Alps, close to the world-famous spa town of Bad Gastein in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The ‘hotel village’ consists of five traditional properties set in over 70 acres of unspoilt countryside and expertly managed by Hannes and Monica Blumschein, the Blumschein family’s third generation of owners. In summer the verdant landscape, warm climate and wealth of activities available provide an excellent accompaniment to the amenities and high standard of service offered by the hotel, and in winter the snow-covered valleys are an enticing draw for ski enthusiasts.

The hotel

The main building is a traditional Alpine house, exuding romantic charm with balconies decked in the brightly coloured hues of geraniums and wildflowers. This style is echoed in all of the buildings of the Hoteldorf Grüner Baum. Guestrooms in all five houses are individually decorated and feature original ceiling beams, furniture with ornate carvings and delicate chandeliers, all of which pay tribute to the exquisite attention to detail employed in the design of the rooms.

Excellent cuisine is combined with a panoramic Alpine view in the restaurant, where chef Peter Podbressnik offers an extensive range of regional and international delicacies created with true finesse and professionalism. Low-calorie and vitality-enhancing menus are also available for guests seeking to optimise their wellness experience with a careful diet.
