Introduction

Situated on the unspoilt island of Gozo, the Kempinski San Lawrenz Resort and Spa offers the ideal hideaway for a rejuvenating and relaxing spa holiday. Smaller, greener and more rural than its neighbouring Malta, Gozo benefits from a spectacular rugged landscape, secluded beaches and a clear blue sea.

The hotel

The resort is set in 30,000 square metres of subtropical garden on the west side of the island, close to the small village of San Lawrenz. Designed to blend into the surrounding landscape, the hotel buildings are built entirely of Maltese limestone to resemble a traditional hunting lodge. The accommodation is made up of junior suites and deluxe rooms, all equipped with their own private balcony or terrace overlooking the beautiful valley of San Lawrenz and the resort’s landscaped garden and pools. The rooms are decorated in traditional Maltese style with cooling limestone walls, honey-coloured wooden furniture and warming red and brown fabrics.

Several different dining experiences are available in the hotel. The Ortolan Restaurant operates a smart casual dress code, while at the Trattoria San Lawrenz you can enjoy a more laidback atmosphere. Both these restaurants serve delicious Mediterranean and Maltese cuisine of fresh vegetables, herbs and citrus fruits. Much of the produce used comes from the hotel’s own vegetable garden, while the fish is supplied daily by the local fishermen of San Lawrenz.
