Introduction

The Hotel Botanico enjoys a privileged location in the residential area of ‘La Paz’ opposite the Botanical Gardens of Puerto de la Cruz. Views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Orotava Valley and Mount Tiede add to the feeling of space and tranquillity in the resort.

The stunning Oriental Spa Garden is a haven of calm inspired by Asian traditions. A combination of Eastern healing therapies and unique treatments drawing in local natural products are on offer to visitors to the spa. Relaxing baths are based on botanical ingredients or marine salt from Lanzarote and unique massages utilise warm volcanic stones. For those seeking the ultimate in privacy and comfort , the ‘Private Spa’ is available for exclusive use of a hot steam room, massage room and hydromassage bathtub.

The hotel

The interior of the hotel combines luxury and careful attention to detail. Rich colours such as red and terracotta feature throughout the property to give a welcoming and warm feel. The bedrooms are extremely well equipped and each one benefits from its own furnished terrace. The Penthouse Suites are located on the top floor of the building with large terraces enjoying stunning views over Mount Teide.

Dining at the Hotel Botanico is a gastronomic experience and guests can choose to dine in any of the hotel’s 4 restaurants, each offering a different style of cuisine and decoration. Palmera Real has a relaxed atmosphere for breakfast or a light lunch. La Parrila serves barbecued meats and fishes in a rustic environment while classic Italian and Mediterranean dishes can be enjoyed at Il Pappagallo. Thai cooks create a selection of oriental cuisine served in a luxurious and elegant atmosphere at the hotel’s Oriental Restaurant

The Oriental Spa Gardens

Opened in 2003, the Botanico’s Oriental Spa is situated in beautiful private gardens. The decoration of the Spa is inspired by the Far East. The ceramics and furniture have been handmade in Thailand and decorative antiques are used to add to the oriental flavour. Asian traditions and authentic local products make up the Botanico’s spa menu. On offer are oriental-style massages such as Ayurveda, Shiatsu and Reiki, exotic body wrappings with green tea, ginger and cacao and relaxing thermal baths filled with oriental essences. The treatments which are locally inspired include luxurious body wrappings with volcanic lava from Tenerife, aloe vera from Fuerteventura and tropical wrappings based on papaya, mango and avocado.

The facilities at the spa are second to none. The thermal circuit is composed of an indoor and outdoor pool filled with soothing thermal water offering jet streams and underwater massage. Themed showers such as the water mist with camomile or mint essence calm the senses as well as enlivening the body. The sound pool offers the ultimate in relaxation where you can lie back in the warm water of the pool while listening to music played underwater. The 2 open-air Jacuzzis and rest areas in the exotic gardens complete the treatments.

Activities

The Botanico’s 3 heated swimming pools are surrounded by 25,000 square metres of lush tropical gardens. Enjoy a stroll around the lake filled with Koi carps of Japan, shaded by subtropical flora. For tennis fans there are two floodlit tennis courts. A practice putting green with 18 holes, bunker and driving range is available for guests’ use next to the hotel. A reduction in green fees is offered to all hotel guests for many of Tenerife’s golf courses, the nearest of which is the 18-hole Royal Golf Club ‘El Penon’, 15 minutes drive away.
