Introduction

The charming Les Sources de Caudalie occupies a privileged and tranquil setting by a lake among the celebrated vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The vineyard’s owners established the hotel in 1999 as a temple to the finer things in life: vintage wines, gourmet food and the world’s first Vinotherapy Spa. The spa offers a unique selection of treatment programmes, all harnessing the power of wine and grape extracts. Clients are offered the opportunity to luxuriate in a bath of red wine mixed with naturally warm spring waters drawn from deep underground.

The hotel

There is plenty of opportunity to taste the vintage wines on offer in the stylish and comfortable French Paradox Bar, where a variety of regional specialities are served by the glass. The hotel’s cellars are stocked with over 15,000 bottles of wine and, if you find the choice too daunting, the sommelier is always on hand to offer his advice. Served in the hotel’s two restaurants is gourmet cuisine by the renowned chef Franck Salein. The delightfully refined La Grand’Vigne serves classic French dishes in a formal environment. From the restaurant’s terrace you can enjoy views over the lake and up across the vine-covered hillside. The rustic chic of La Table du Lavoir offers a more relaxed and cosy atmosphere with the use of natural unpolished wood for furniture and floors. Both restaurants also serve delicious low-calorie options for those watching their figures
