Treatments

Shiseido Spa

The therapeutic spa treatments are based on the healing thermal waters of Bad Gastein, the powers of which have been recognised for centuries, but were only scientifically proven in 1951 when it was discovered that gold miners in the area no longer suffered from rheumatism due to the heat, air humidity and inert radon gas content of the air in the Rathaus mountain where they worked. The thermal water used in the therapies is naturally heated to 45 degrees centigrade, and the radon content can be absorbed by the body through breathing or through the skin where it remains in the body for a maximum of half an hour. Radon at this low dosage alleviates pain, improves oxygenation of the blood, accelerates the healing process and is beneficial in the treatment of chronic disorders such as rheumatism, lung disease and allergies. The water is also intensely relaxing and produces excellent effects when used in wellbeing treatments.

The extensive range of treatments available at the Spa and Shiseido Beauty Centre use the three naturally occurring elements of radon and heat, found in the thermal waters of Bad Gastein, and the cleansing Alpine air as the key components to ensure health and wellbeing. Signature treatments

Radon Tub Bath

The thermal waters of Bad Gastein are renowned for their healing properties, most notably due to their active ingredient, Radon. Radon naturally regenerates damaged cells, allowing them to function and therefore promoting recovery after illness or injury. Guests can enjoy one or two trial baths at between 10 to 20 minutes each and will be amazed by the rejuvenating effects.

Shiseido Facial

The skin is cleansed deeply and steamed to eliminate toxins in preparation for a soothing facial massage with nourishing Shiseido moisturising cream. To complete the treatment a face mask is applied and an active ingredient Ampoule is recommended based on the skin needs of the individual.

Laser Therapy

There is a range of laser therapy treatments available, all of which aim to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve circulation and refine the appearance of the skin for a radiant glow. A low-level laser is used to stimulate cellular activity which in turn promotes effective skin regeneration. Targeted therapies for the eye and lip areas, neck and whole face are available, in addition to a scar-reducing programme of three 15-minute exposures. Laser therapy is painless and relaxing, and the effects are immediately visible.

Thalasso Slimming Treatment

This treatment harnesses the therapeutic properties of sea minerals to purify and restore the acid-alkaline balance in the body which is upset by modern diet and lifestyle. A body peel, algae bath, algae pack and oil application are performed to maximise the beneficial effects of the minerals present in algae, which are believed to boost metabolism and the immune system.
