Le Mas Candille, Cote D'Azur Spa Hotel
Introduction
Set in extensive Provençale parkland, Le Mas Candille enjoys the
beauty and serenity of an inland location, just 4 miles from the
bustling centre of Cannes. Its secluded hilltop setting allows the
hotel to enjoy fabulous views across the valley to the foothills of
the Alps. The hotel has been imaginatively transformed from its
original state as an 18th century farmhouse into a luxurious
four-star property that combines classic French architecture and
more modern amenities.
Spa treatments in the Zen-style Shiseido Spa take their
influence from the oriental philosophy that beauty comes from deep
inside. The treatments focus on wellbeing as well as improving the
skin’s condition and the menu is composed of a range of relaxing
and energising treats for the face and body, including quick
tension release, clarifying, cleansing and firming care. Each of
the treatment rooms has its own private Japanese garden where
guests can relax at the end of the therapy.
The Hotel
The 41 spacious rooms are split between the main house and the
Bastide and all are individually decorated in a stylish combination
of light, muted colours and antique furnishings as well as modern
amenities such as CD and DVD players and internet access.
The two swimming pools provide the final touch – one is a large,
infinity edged pool with views out over the countryside, the other
is a smaller more intimate pool for relaxing in peace and quiet.
The elegantly laid-back Pergola Restaurant is located on the
terrace next to the larger pool and serves breakfast during the
warm summer months as well as grilled fish, light snacks and salads
during the day. Alternatively, dine in the dappled shade of the
orangery on the terrace of the Michelin star Restaurant Candille or
within the sumptuous surroundings of the main dining room.
With its close proximity to Nice airport, Le Mas Candille is
ideal for a relaxing and energy boosting long weekend, but its
excellent facilities mean that it is an equally attractive option
for longer stays.
Shiseido Spa
Nestling in its own landscaped area of the
hotel’s grounds, the purpose-built Japanese-style spa is a peaceful
sanctuary where guests can relax and combat the effects of modern
living. This is one of the only Shiseido Spas in Europe and has
been beautifully designed and furnished to create an idyllic haven
in which to experience the spa therapies. Facilities at the spa
include four treatment suites, each with its own Japanese–style
garden, where clients can relax after the treatments and a
beautiful outdoor Jacuzzi set in an ornamental pond.
Shiseido offers a wonderful selection of face
and body treatments based on an oriental discipline using its
unique Qi Method and product range. The Qi method focuses on the
importance that the body’s energy, or ‘Qi’, plays in our wellbeing.
Beauty comes from developing a harmony between body and mind and in
order to achieve this, treatments use a combination of shiatsu
pressure point work, oshiboris (special Japanese hot towels) and
aromatherapy. Certain pressure points are stimulated to boost
inactive parts of the body or calm overactive parts. The overall
effect is to balance body and mind which improves the appearance of
the skin and leaves you feeling either relaxed or energised.
