Norway Classical Music Cruise
Introduction
A 13 night cruise along Norway’s Fjords to the North Cape.
This unique cruise gives you the opportunity to explore the
Norwegian fjords, regarded as some of the world’s most stunning
scenery whilst enjoying an excellent programme of music. As we
journey up the coastline, we will be able to appreciate the wild
beauty of the region.
Travelling along the finger-like fjords, one cannot fail to be
impressed by the still waters surrounded by verdant hills dotted
with small villages. The furthest point of the cruise will take us
inside the Arctic Circle where, in June it becomes known as the
Land of the Midnight Sun as it stays light for days. Here the
landscape is not barren but one of gentle rolling hills and wild
flower meadows where the reindeer are brought down to graze in the
summer months.
When journeying along the coast we will take time to visit some
of the most famous towns. Bergen is an attractive city with
mediaeval houses, cobbled streets and pavement cafes. Visitors will
have the opportunity to explore Grieg’s house at nearby
Troldhaugen. Trondheim has been welcoming explorers for 1,000 years
and its impressive 12th Century cathedral has been updated with a
20th Century stained glass window. The combination of the rugged
wilderness, continuous daylight and inspiring talks and music
should lift the spirits and enrich the soul.
