Travel by 4WD from Cairo to explore the Fayoum with its
traditional canals, pigeon houses and orchards before heading to
the Valley of the Whales, overnight camping
Day 3
Valley of the Whales to Bahariya. Explore al-Qasr and Ain
al-Ris, then continue into the White Desert, overnight camping
Day 4
White Desert - Farafra - Abu Minqar – Dakhla, overnight in a
comfortable and award-winning Eco-lodge
Day 5
Dakhla - Black Hill, overnight camping
Day 6
En route to Gebel Uweinat and Karkur Talh, overnight Camping
Day 7
Explore the rock art sites of Karkur Talh, overnight camping
Day 8
A further day to explore Karkur Talh, overnight camping
Day 9
Karkur Talh - Clayton Crater - Wadi Sura (The Cave of the
Swimmers), overnight camping
Day 10
Day at leisure to explore Wadi Sura, the Foggini Cave and
Mushroom Rock, overnight camping
Day 11
Wadi Sura - Aqaba - top of the Gilf Kebir, overnight camping
Day 12
Top of the Gilf - Wadi Abd-el Malik, overnight camping
Day 13
Wadi Abd-el Malik - Wadi Hamra and the lost oasis of Zerzura,
overnight camping
Day 14
Full day exploring Wadi Hamra on foot, overnight camping
Day 15
Wadi Hamra - East side of the Gilf Kebir, overnight camping
Day 16
En route to the yardangs, overnight camping
Day 17
Yardangs - Abu Balas pottery site – Dakhla, overnight in the
Eco-lodge
Day 18
Dakhla – Luxor, overnight in a hotel overlooking the Nile
Day 19
Transfer to Luxor airport for flight home
