Spend a long weekend in North Africa; sightseeing in Marrakech and walking in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains

Close to Europe and perfect for a short break, this trip provides a great taste of North Africa, exploring the rich history and culture of Morocco, as well as its tremendously varied landscapes. There is time to explore the Imperial City of Marrakech with its historic mosques and palaces, maze-like souks, tranquil gardens and the Djemaa el Fna square. A scenic drive takes us to Ouirgane in a picturesque valley in the High Atlas, where we walk through local villages. The Berber inhabitants are friendly and welcoming and many still live according to the seasons and age-old customs. On this trip, we stay in a beautiful auberge in the countryside and a stunning riad hotel in Marrakech.
