Liberated from the trauma of one of the 20th century’s most horrific wars, the Vietnamese are focused firmly on the future and are revealed as a people of great charm and dynamism. Influeneced by Chinese and french culture, the Vietnamese have maintained a strong sense of their own uniqueness while embracing new outside influences. Travellers are moved by the warmth and hospitality that greets them. Vientnam’s natural beauty is another of the country’s powerful attractions.

You will learn all about Vietnam’s people and traditions from the vantage point of her kitchens on this culinary tour-deforce. Each region of Vietnam has something special to offer, from bun cha and pho in the north to bun bo, banh khoai and other Nguyen Dynasty delicacies in the centre, to the spicy, French infused flavours of the south. No two meals are alike, and both your appetite and your quest to learn will be wellsatiated by journey’s end.

The quality of accommodation is a real highlight of this trip. Hotels are centrally located, three and four-star with private western style bathrooms, air-conditioning and pools (except in Hanoi). All road travel is in comfortable minibuses or midsized coaches. Your journey is escorted by both a Western tour leader, based on a minimum of seven travellers, and a
local English-speaking guide in each location. Groups are never more than 15 travellers in size.
