Horseback Riding Holiday Kyrgyzstan
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Bishkek and transfer to your hotel for a rest, late
breakfast and city-tour
Day 2
Transfer to Ala-Archa Natural Park for a short
acclimatisation hike to a waterfall, before returning to
Bishkek
Day 3
Transfer to Talas, visiting the Manas complex
(Manas tomb, Ken-Kol catacombs, Ak-Debe ancient town) en route.
Overnight in a hotel in Talas
Day 4
Excursion to the Kirov reservoir to visit the
ancient towns of Suz and Shel'dji before returning to Talas
Day 5
Transfer to the Susamyr valley for the
equestrian games, and overnight accommodation in a yurt camp
Day 6
Drive to Lake Son-Kul, and accommodation in a
yurt camp
Day 7
Transfer to Lake Issyk-Kul, accommodation in
Quiet Bay yurt camp
Day 8
Excursion to the town of Tosor and its
important palaeolithic site, as well as visiting Tamga-Tash Tibetan
Stones before returning to the yurt camp
Day 9
After lunch transfer to the Barskoon Gorge to
begin the horseback ride. After acquainting yourself with the
horses, ride for 2-3 hours, before overnighting at a wilderness
campsite
Day 10
Continue up the Barskoon Gorge, overnight
camping
Day 11
Ride from Barskoon Gorge to the Arabel Valley,
overnight camping
Day 12
Ride to Kengorotme Lake over the Soiok pass,
overnight camping
Day 13
Ride to Taragay Valley, overnight camping
Day 14
Ride to Karasay Valley, overnight camping
Day 15
Ride to the Mai-Tor Gorge, overnight
camping
Day 16
Ride to Chokalu-Kol Lake, along the Arabel-Suu
River, overnight camping
Day 17
A short horseback ride, before being met by
vehicle and driving back to Quiet Bay yurt camp on Lake
Issyk-Kul.
Day 18
Morning at leisure. After lunch, drive back to
Bishkek via the Burana Tower, before a farewell dinner and
overnight in a hotel
Day 19
Transfer to Bishkek airport for your flight
home.
