Day
1Start Ripoll. Make your own way from Barcelona to Ripoll by bus to the railway station and then a direct train (approx. 2 hours). Collect bikes.
Day
2Cycle to Olot. There is time to visit the Romanesque monastery before joining the Bici Carril to Olot in the Parc Natural de la Zona Volcanica de la Garroxta.

3Circular route. Ride into the extinct volcanoes of Garrotxa to see the Croscat Volcano and Santa Pau, one of the best of Catalunya's mediaeval villages. Optional longer ride into Bas Valley, a quiet area with picturesque villages.

4Cycle to Girona. There is a gentle incline today along the Bici Carril, but then it is mostly downhill.

5Free day. Visit Girona, an ancient walled town with a magnificent Cathedral and Arabic baths; or take a short train ride to Figueres for its spectacular Dali Museum.

6Cycle to San Feliu de Guixols. Following the Bici Carril, this is the last day of riding and brings you to the edge of the Mediterranean.

7Bus to Barcelona (fare to be paid locally). Visit the city's highlights - Antonio Gaudi's unique buildings, the Barrio Gotico with its beautiful cathedral, the Jewish Quarter and the Picasso Museum.

8Make your own way to Barcelona airport.

1Start Ripoll.
