Golf:
The Vila Sol SPA & Golf Resort is located in an estate of
some 150 hectares. The course is characterised by its stunning
natural surroundings with a vast range of fauna, animal and plant
life. At Vila Sol Golf you will find a remarkable Donald
Steel-designed 27-hole golf course, which stretches along a wide,
naturally sculpted valley that is divided into three loops with
three different levels of difficulty: Prime, Challenge and
Prestige. Vila Sol Golf was honoured by the Green Globe
organisation in 1996 with the Green Flag award which represents
official recognition of its meeting their environmental
requirements. It has also twice played host to the Portuguese
Open.
Against this backdrop, carefully taken care of and protected by
specialist staff, golfers discover an environment which will entice
them throughout the day. From the first tee to the Clubhouse, a
team of professionals are at work, and remain at your disposal to
make this paradise a unique, memorable experience. Guests also
practise their game at the driving range or practise course of
around 300 metres, which runs alongside the Clubhouse.
Spa and beauty facilities:
The unique, state-of-the-art Spa is located in a traditional
Algarvian house in the heart of the Vila Sol resort. With over 20
treatment rooms, Aquamedic pool, Hammam and wealth of sophisticated
equipment, guests are assured a professional, effective treatment
experience. With an holistic approach to well-being, there is a
full range of hydrotherapy, skin and bodycare treatments, massages
and oriental therapies such as reiki and shiatsu to be sampled.
Vila Sol have developed an exclusive range of natural products
which are used in their treatments.
The mineral-rich seaweed used in algotherapy provides the basis
for one range, while locally-sourced ingredients of olive and
almond oils, and citrus essence are the fundamental elements of
their aromatherapy products.The all-natural approach continues in
the vitamin bar, where guests can choose from a cleansing range of
fresh fruits, herbal teas and mineral waters to further enhance the
benefits of the Spa.
Other resort activities:
Guests at the Vila Sol also benefit from two tennis courts,
swimming pools and a keep-fit circuit for jogging or gymnastics.
The Vila Sol now offers a fitness circuit with superlative views
over the golf course. Guests can stop to train their abdominals or
do some stretching exercises.
