For anyone who loves the wilderness, wildlife or photography or all of these, this safari with photographer, author and presenter Paul Goldstein is unmissable.
Make no mistake about it, this will be very special indeed. The time is going to be maximized in the Mara and those who have done 'proper' game drives with me before know exactly what this means. It should be quite something with the resident predators in full attendance. By flying in and out of the Mara we maximise time on the plains and benefit from full day game drives with sumptuous breakfasts and lunches whilst waiting patiently for cheetahs to hunt or wildebeeste to cross the Mara river in their thousands . The Mara needs no introduction: We will have magnificent four wheel drive vehicles, perfect for photographers, and sumptuous cuisine, superb accommodation, brilliant guides and long game drives, the smart Kicheche Migration Camp is brilliantly positioned and exclusively for these groups. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, even servals and the huge migration are all on the agenda but be aware this safari never, ever works to clinical guidelines. Land Only clients please note the start point is 9.00 am at Wilson Airport in Nairobi on Day 2. For those interested in extending their stay, there are several options, very popular last year was staying on in the Mara (with a possible fly camp option - this is a late afternoon walking safari followed by an overnight bush camp -max 6 pax- and then walk back to camp the following morning, climbing Kilimanjaro or some relaxation in Zanzibar. Please let me know if these are of interest or any other options you may have researched. Photography: Paul Goldstein will be on hand for advice, tips and small discussions and practical photography information. If you have any questions at all before you travel please do not hesitate to contact Paul. Meal Plan: Full board on safari, dinner is not included on the last evening in Nairobi. Currency: It is strongly recommended to change money on arrival at the airport. Ballooning: Possible in the Mara; very expensive (approx $400.00) but memorable. Please let Paul know before departure if you would like this to be arranged. Tipping: Allow approx $90.00 +Visa: Please check this before departure but almost everyone needs a visa which can be obtained on arrival for $50.00Inoculations: Please check with your GP before departure
