Some of our days
Arrival day
Leaving Málaga we arrive in Mecina in time to explore this
pretty village before a reviving dinner.
Photos in Fondales
In the morning we shall explore the immediate vicinity of Fondales,
a pretty village full of postcard-type shots - a perfect
introduction to the Alpujarras. After lunch there will be a chance
for one-to-one tutorials and enjoying the pool. Before dinner your
tutor will give a slide show critique of their own travel
photography.
Peeping into Pampaneira
We drive to Pampaneira in the throat of the Poqueira gorge. There
is busy-ness to the labyrinth of narrow streets adorned by the rag
rugs that hang by the shops - lots of possibilities and good cafés
to enjoy. After a tapas lunch we return to the hotel to complete
the one-to-one tutorials. As the shadows lengthen we will walk
through the fields to the nearby village of Ferreirola.
Up high in Cañar
An hour's drive through the mountains takes us to the high mountain
village of Cañar – where elderly men play dominoes and ladies
dressed in black nip in and out of doorways. After time in the
village we follow a wonderful high but fairly flat mountain path
with distant views across the valley to the Sierra Nevada.
Free day
Unless you've had enough of the viewfinder, Granada and the
Alhambra Palace is about as good as it gets for city
photography.
Up and down the Poqueira
Returning to the
top of the Poqueira, we will explore the myriad of narrow flowered
back streets of Capileira before carrying our cameras down the
gorge to Bubión. More spectacular shots of houses clinging to the
gorge and a great Morroccan café for lunch.
Back to your favourite haunts
We spend the
morning returning to our favourite locations before driving high
into the mountains for a look at some big landscapes. In the
evening, over drinks, we shall reflect on the images, memories and
learning of the week.
Departure day
We leave after an early
breakfast to arrive at Málaga airport by 10.00.
Note: This is a selection of the many options available. Weather
conditions, group interests and the individual tutor will influence
the final itinerary.
