but also a chance to add something to the conservation of this

Introduction
Adventure, conservation and trekking in one of the most
remote corners of the earth.
Join this demanding and adventurous expedition for 6 and 12
weeks and combine conservation, exploration and trekking in the
wild regions of Patagonia. As an expedition member, you will not
only explore remote regions of Patagonia but also make a positive
impact on the conservation of this unique habitat. After a
comprehensive training period, you will be involved in activities
such as exploration and trekking in mountain regions,
surveying the Andean Condor, recording mammal species and
community and environmental education. There will also be an
opportunity to test your new found fitness by climbing high
altitude mountainous terrain throughout the expedition. Conditions
will be basic in mobile tented accommodation, are you up to the
challenge? The expedition runs in conjunction with local
universities and various conservation bodies throughout Patagonia
and southern South America.
Combining challenging trekking with vital conservation projects
to some of Patagonia’s most untouched regions, this expedition
offers a unique chance to live and work in one of the most
outstanding regions on our planet in a range of remote habitat
types. This expedition is all about experiencing the extremes of
climate and landscape that the name Patagonia suggests. It differs
from other expeditions by having a greater emphasis
on adventure and exploration. The expedition is carefully
balanced to provide the most adventurous and unique experience,
whilst ensuring that you are making a difference whilst you are
there. The expedition will take you to parts of the
Argentine and Chilean Patagonia that very few ever see. The
challenging expedition phases range from satellite camps monitoring
Andean condors to the two week mountaineering route in the heart of
the Patagonian Mountains.
Working in conjunction with various conservation bodies
throughout Patagonia, this expedition not only offers individuals
adventure and unforgettable experiences but also a chance to add
something to the conservation of this unique ecosystem. After
weeks of monitoring and using newly acquired skills and stamina,
the expedition also allows expedition members to test their fitness
taking part in the remote trekking phase on the Northern Ice cap of
Chilean Patagonia. In addition, there may also be opportunity to
attempt summiting Lanin Volcano, the highest peak in Argentine
Patagonia, or equivalent activity depending on season. Open to all
skill levels , this is an excellent expedition for those wanting to
explore this amazing region while adding to its long-term
conservation.
Duration and Group Size:
10 to 16 including staff at each base. NB - This group will be
split on each phase so that survey and trekking group sizes will
never be more than 8 people plus staff.
