Each of the rooms are fitted with private bathroom, multi channel TV, internet points, mini bar, telephone, safe and tea and coffee making facilities.

The rest of the day is at leisure. The V&A Waterfront with its restaurants and live entertainment is just a few minutes away or you may choose visit the bar on the 21st floor of the Ritz Hotel, located only a few streets away, to sip sundowners while gazing out to sea.

Day 2: Cape Town
This morning a scrumptious buffet breakfast is served in the delightful breakfast room. We then take a walking tour of the city centre, focusing on the cultural and historical significance of the many beautiful buildings and gardens in the city. A light lunch can be enjoyed in the city at one of the many street cafés or in the Company Gardens (at own expense).

The remainder of the day is at your leisure and your tour leader will be on hand to help you choose from the myriad of activities that are on offer in and around the city. You may choose to visit the infamous Robben Island for a tour of the former prison facility, that housed both the former president, Nelson Mandela, along with the current president Thabo Mbeki and many other political prisoners, for a great number of years.

Alternatively you may spend the afternoon exploring the many shops, restaurants and entertainment options the V&A Waterfront has to offer.

Day 3: Cape Point Peninsula
An early start will see us travelling south along the Atlantic Seaboard, through picturesque Hout Bay and over the dramatic Chapman’s Peak Drive which affords spectacular views of the mountains and the sea. Whales can sometimes be seen in the bay during winter, and wild flowers can be seen on the mountains during late winter and early spring.

We travel to Good Hope Nature Reserve, located at the most south-westerly point of Africa where the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic ocean and the warm Agulhus current of False Bay merge. Lunch is taken at Two Oceans Restaurant, spectacularly perched on cliffs with stunning views over False Bay. Following lunch we take a cliff side walk up to the historical Cape Point Lighthouse for panoramic views over the Cape Peninsula.

We leave the reserve, travelling around the scenic False Bay coastline, taking in the historical naval town of Simon's town and the resident colony of African Penguins at nearby Boulder's Beach. We arrive back to Cape Town in the late afternoon and the rest of the evening is at leisure.

For dinner tonight, try one of the restaurants in the trendy de Waterkant area, a beautifully restored historic part of Cape Town.

Meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch

Day 4: Cape Town - Stellenbosch
After breakfast, the remainder of the morning is free for you to continue sightseeing in the city. One of the city's greatest landmarks is the imposing Table Mountain and you can take a cable-car ride to the top of the mountain to enjoy the spectacular views over Cape Town and beyond. The mountain has an interesting array of flora and fauna and a visit to this beautiful natural wonder is highly recommended as part of your stay in Cape Town!

In the early afternoon we depart the 'Mother City' for our destination of Stellenbosch which lies at the heart of the oldest, and arguably most famous, wine-producing region in the country. Our base for the next three nights is a charming hotel, located within walking distance of more than 40 excellent restaurants and coffee shops, all the major museums, more than six art museums/galleries and three theatres.

The streets of Stellenbosch are filled with beautiful Cape Dutch architecture and historic buildings and this afternoon we will take an escorted walking tour through the charming, oak-lined streets of the town.  For dinner tonight we suggest a traditional braai (barbeque) that can be enjoyed on the river banks at De Oewer Restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.
Meals included: 1 breakfast

Day 5: Stellenbosch Winelands
After breakfast in the charming courtyard of our hotel , we depart on our full day tour of the famed winelands surrounding Stellenbosch.  The morning is spent at two of the oldest wine farms in the region; Nelson Creek Wine Estate - founded by the French Huguenots in as early as 1692, and Vrede-en-Lust Wine Estate formed in 1688. Here we take vineyard and cellar tours and sample some of the award-winning wines and cheeses that are on offer.

For lunch we are treated to an elegant french-style picnic beneath fragrant pines of Boschendal Wine Estate, spectacularly set against the backdrop of the majestic Simonsberg mountain (seasonal).

A visit to the renowned KWV Wine Emporium begins with a tour of the Cathedral Cellar with its high vaulted ceiling and some of the world's largest vats within the world's largest cellar complex. Our final stop, the Emporium's wine-tasting areas, which showcases an abundance of award-winning brands of wines, brandies and fortified wines, brings to a close an indulgent day of wonderful food & wine!

Meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch

Day 6: Stellenbosch Winelands
The morning remains free for optional activities to be experienced in the region. You may wish to take your wine-tasting endeavours a little further afield to the neighbouring regions of Paarl and Franschhoek (French Corner). Or take advantage of a unique opportunity to get in touch with the locals on an African Cooking Safari at the friendly Kayamandi Township.

Explore African food and beverages on our hands-on cooking experience and discover the hues of South Africa's cultural diversity (subject to minimum numbers). Your leader will be on hand to discuss and help book any of the myriad of activities on offer in the region.

In the late afternoon we visit the Spier Wine Estate for personal encounters with cheetahs and raptors as part of the wine farm's outreach initiative to protect these endangered animals.

The evening we are in for a truly memorable experience as we dine under the stars at the award-winning Moyo at Spier. Set in a magnificent tree-lined garden, the restaurant comprises Bedouin tents, gazebos and even treehouses! We are entertained by many local performers throughout the evening, ranging from theatre, to storytelling to tribal dancing.  An unforgettable evening to savour scrumptious food, fine wines and exhilarating performances - all with a distinctly Cape African flavour!
Meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 dinner

Day 7: Stellenbosch - Cape Town
After breakfast, we depart the winelands on a scenic drive through the region before arriving back at Cape Town. If you have an ongoing flight you will be transferred to Cape Town airport en-route to the city, otherwise you'll be dropped back to our Cape Town hotel where our tour ends.
